CLINIQUE BONUS TIME GIFT SET

Hi everyone!

I was lucky enough to receive a gift bundle from Clinique called Clinique Bonus Time which included a handful of amazing skincare goodies and a couple of makeup items! This gift bundle could not have come at a better time as recently my skin has been extremely under the weather due to stress! I've also been feeling my face needs a good detox from all the makeup build up over time. Even though I take good care of my skin, sometimes you need to give it an extra bit of attention to get it in good shape!

When I opened the package, I was amazed as all the little parcels were wrapped up in a pretty tissue inside a beautiful makeup bag which made me so happy as I am literally on the hunt for a cute little makeup bag to take out with my in the day.

The skincare items out of this gift bundle are Clinique Take The Day Off makeup remover, Clinique 7 Day Scrub and the Superdefense SPF 20 Daily Moisturiser!

The first item I looked at was the Clinique Take The Day Off eye makeup and lipstick remover. I loved this as firstly, it has a child-lock cap which is great if you have children but if you don't, like myself, it's still a great bonus as if you keep all your skincare items together in a pouch or drawer, you don't have to worry about it leaking or anything like that! I popped the tiniest amount of this on a cotton pad and it literally took off all of my eye makeup. I couldn't believe that such a small amount would actually take off all of my eye makeup in practically one sweep!

The next item is the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream - rinse off formula. This is what I got most excited about I think, as I said, my skin has been suffering the past few weeks as well as feeling like I desperately need a detox for my face to get rid of all the build up of makeup you think you've taken off, but really haven't! I dampened my skin a little and massaged this product all over my face, concentrating around my T-Zone. I kept adding more and more because it just felt so good and felt like it was really getting deep into my skin and cleaning it thoroughly. When I was ready to wipe it off, I took a cotton pad, wet it and wiped it all off. To get the extra bit off, I rinsed my face with warm but not boiling water. I can't express enough how clean my skin felt after rinsing this off.

The next product worked wonders in conjunction with the exfoliator. The Clinique Superdefense SPF 20 - daily defense moisturiser was calming, cool and super soft on my freshly exfoliated face. I love this product because it's also got an SPF of 20 which is great because with the summer just around the corner, you know your face will be protected. Also, the moisturiser is an amazing base to use under your makeup, whether you apply a primer after or not!

A huge plus for these three items is that they're all allergy tested and 100% fragrance free!

The next item is the Clinique High Impact Mascara in black. The super long wand reached all of my eye lashes in one application which is so handy because it allows for a speedy but accurate application when you're in a rush! This mascara is really nice if you'd like more of a natural eye look but you can build up with this one if you want a more dramatic look!

Then we have the eye shadow called All About Shadow Duo in the shade Strawberry Fudge 013. This has such amazing but subtle pigment. You don't need a lot but when you apply it, it's soft and smokey without it looking heavy which is a must for the summer months!

The last item is the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense - Moisturising lip colour balm in 05 Plushest Punch. This chubby stick is super moisturising, leaving a satin effect but if you blot it, you'll obviously get a matte effect so you get best of both worlds! The colour I received was a strawberry colour which is so pretty for the summer and the lasting power is immense!

Adlet's New Brand Promotion Service & Sweet Cecily's Elderflower & Almond Hand Cream

Hi everyone!

Today's post is a review on a wonderful hand cream I was sent through Adlet's new Brand Product Review service.

If you haven't heard of Adlet, I have a few posts all about it linked here and here. Adlet offers bloggers and brands to collaborate by brands purchasing ad spaces on blogs, but a new service Adlet has introduced furthers the ability for bloggers and brands to collaborate. This service allows brands to publish products on Adlet's site for bloggers to pitch to review. So if you're a blogger, make sure you're signed up to Adlet (all free!) and you can start working with brands right away, whether it's by selling ad spaces or reviewing products! Here's a little post on the Adlet blog on how this new service works with a step-by-step guide.

Now, onto the product!

This Sweet Cecily's Elderflower & Almond hand cream is so perfect for me, it's unreal! I've got very dry hands and extreme dry patches around the knuckles at times... one of those times being now. This cream soothes the dryness with its silky smooth formula and I am in love with the scent of this hand cream! I used it in the office last week and kept opening it every now and again to apply the hand cream just so I could smell the divine scent (and getting silky smooth hands into the bargain!) I can only describe the scent as what it's like when you walk into a candle shop... utter bliss! Also, all of their products are not tested on animals and are free from parabens which is amazing!

I highly recommend this hand cream and I'd also recommend checking out their site because it's super unique and quirky!

Don't forget to check out Adlet's new service before you go, it's definitely worth it!

REVIEW: SIGMA F80 - FLAT KABUKI BRUSH

Sigma F80

Hey everyone!

So since I've been away from blogging this past month, I've treated myself to a couple of new things as it was also my 22nd birthday!

I'm not one for fancy or expensive makeup brushes...I like to use my beauty blender sponges (which I still use religiously) for foundation and cream bronzer, then a stippling brush for powder and highlight and that's it. I do own the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and Powder Brush which I use on occasions, but not on a daily basis.

However, like I said, I use one beauty blender for foundation and one for bronzing/contour and the one I use for bronzing/contour was getting old. The ones I use are by Cosmopolitan but I can't find them anywhere anymore so if you know where I can get them, please let me know! So I thought I'd treat myself to a new bronzing/contour applicator/tool and fancied a change, so I did a bit of research and came across the Sigma F80 which is the Flat Kabuki brush. I'd heard of this one before but for £18/£19 I always kept well away as I didn't know if it would be something that would work for me or not.

Anyway, I decided to give it a go and I absolutely love it. It has such dense bristles and it has a flat top so it glides on foundation as well as bronzing cream and leaves a full coverage finish, which is my favourite as it covers all the redness I have! Of course, with an extra bit of buffing, it'll leave you with more of a medium coverage, if that's something you prefer!

Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki

It works fantastically as a contour brush if you dab a bit of your bronzing cream onto your cheekbones and blend it in with the brush. My cousin recently bought me lots of Bourjois products for my birthday (as Bourjois is my holy grail brand) and one of the products she bought me was the Bronzing Primer. I'll be doing a review on this tomorrow but it works so, so well with this brush!

Anyway, I'll leave it there because I'll start rambling but I hope that if you're looking for a new brush that'll do just about anything, you might try this one and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Thank you for reading and take care!

SUPER QUICK UPDATE

Hi everyone!

This is just a really super quick post just to update you on what's going on and why I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks!

I'm in my last couple of weeks of my last year of university, so as you can imagine, things are pretty hectic! My dissertation is due in this week and I have more essays due the week after so I'm really trying to put 100% into these last few weeks!

I have about 15 posts all in my drafts begging me to post them, however my OCD won't let me post them until they are perfect and checked over a million times - I don't just want to upload half-hearted posts, I like them to be thorough!

As for the Twitter chat which I posted about last month, that will be starting as soon as my work has been handed in but I'll give you all a heads up when the exact date has been decided! I'm so excited about it because of the reaction and feedback I've had from the idea, so I'm so glad people are keen for it!

Anyways, I probably won't post until I've finished but it won't be too much longer now... If I can get an hour to perfect at least one post, I'll definitely post it because I'm missing blogging so, so much!

I'll leave it at that for now but I hope you're all doing well and I hope your essays and exams (if you have them) aren't stressing you out too much!

Speak soon, guys!
