REVIEW: BOURJOIS BRONZING PRIMER

Hi everyone!

I have another review for you all today on the Bourjois Bronzing Primer. As you might know, if you read my review on the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush, I've recently tried this bronzing primer as my cousin bought me it for my birthday last month.

For contour, I really prefer to use a cream based bronzer as I feel it's easier to work with and blend with. It also doesn't leave that dreaded muddy mark we all freak out about when we've just finished our makeup routine and then spend 20 minutes trying to repair the damage...or is that just me?

Anyway, I've tried SEVENTEEN's Instant Glow Tan bronzing cream which I really love and Sonia Kashuk's bronzing cream which is so lovely however I do like to try new things where makeup is concerned and so I thought I'd give this a bash.

When I opened it, it's less like a cream and more like a whipped mousse...think Dream Matte Mousse formula but a bit more whipped and you'll get the right idea.

They only sell it in one shade which made me wonder if it would be too dark for my pale skin, but it's not. If you're a bit on the pale side, simply use less. I spoke in a previous post about using it with my new Sigma F80 so I really recommend pairing them both up and trying that out - both used together makes the application process a very speedy one, which is great if you're in a rush! I also love applying this with a beauty blender as it gives a very natural look and blends in super well.

Also, as this is bronzing "primer", the idea is that you can apply this under your foundation so that when you put a light layer of foundation on, the bronzed glow will come through, looking ultra natural, which is lovely if you want to create that defined cheekbone without it looking heavy or too made up! I usually just use it over my foundation but in the summer, I'll definitely be using it under instead!

A little perk to this product before I go is that as Bourjois is owned by Chanel, this product is highly compared to Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzing cream! I haven't tried that product, but I've seen a lot of reviews saying it's a great dupe and some even say it's better than the Chanel one, but I can't vouch for that!

Thank you all for reading and I hope you like it as much as I do if you decide to try it!

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE : BEAUTY EDITION

Christmas

Christmas is rapidly approaching and I don't like how quick it's coming! Christmas is my favourite time of year so I really like to enjoy it and make the most of it, but it's just flying by!

As the days are whittling by so quickly, I thought it would be helpful if I put together a bit of a gift guide/idea post to help you out if you're struggling to find time to actually look for presents for friends and family!

First of all we'll get stuck into some beauty products!

Foundations:

Obviously this is quite a difficult one because you really need to know the shade of the person you are buying for as this is so difficult to get right if they're not with you to choose. If you're lucky and you know the colour (although the shade and colours do change depending on the brand!) then here's a couple of my favourite drugstore foundations:

  1. L'Oreal Infallible 24H Foundation  - £9.99
  2. L'Oreal Nutri Lift Gold Foundation - £14.99

Concealers
  1. Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer Light - £7.99
  2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19
(Side-note: I love the lightest shade in both of these concealers as they make awesome highlighters!)

LancĂ´me Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara Gift Set - £22.50

Lancome Doll Eyes Hypnose Lovely Eyes

I was lucky enough to trial this product and I absolutely love it! The mascara wand is something which allows me to get right into the lash bed and really grip each individual lash without it appearing clumpy or getting mascara all over your eyelids (which I can't stand!). After one coat, it gives you a lovely natural look but when you apply a couple of layers, you'll really get that doll effect finish which the product claims to give you!

I definitely recommend this product! It makes for a wonderful Christmas Gift Set or even if you're looking for a new mascara and eyeliner!

Lancome Mascara High end mascara

  1. Elf Baked Eyeshadow Palette - £10
  2. Elf Baked Eyeshadow - Toasted - £3 (approx)

I hope you found this post helpful if you're looking for gifts to buy or even if you fancy a new product to add on your Christmas wishlist!

In the next couple of days I'll be posting a Fashion Christmas Gift Guide and also a Random Christmas Gift Guide which will include...you guessed it... random things but still awesome nonetheless!

Stay tuned and hope to see you back here soon!

MIX UP YOUR MAKEUP

Hi!

Today's post is a little bit different than a normal product review or demo. Today I'm starting a mini makeup series.

If you're anything like me and you can never find the right shade of lipstick, foundation, concealer, eye shadow or even the right finish i.e., matte, dewy glow, satin or EVEN if whatever makeup you use just doesn't stay on for as long as you want it to then this series is for you!

Each week I'll be posting different products that you can mix together to create a perfect finish and I promise it works as it's something I do everyday with my makeup... I never just use one product on my face, lips and eyes!

Today I'll start it off with foundation as this is the base for all of your makeup, so it makes sense to start here!

First of all, I never use just one foundation! I am never able to find a foundation that has everything I want so I have to somehow come up with the perfect concoction myself!

My favourite look is dewy/satin finish so I'll always buy a liquid foundation that has some sort of illuminising or radiant description on the bottle! However, I always find that this type of foundation doesn't have great staying power so I like to apply one foundation, let that set and then apply the second foundation. I'll be posting a tutorial soon of how I keep my makeup in place all day long by doing a little trick... but more on that in a future post (coming soon!) so keep a look out for that!

This first product is one of my favourite brands, Bourjois and is the Healthy Mix foundation. I've talked about this product in previous blog posts because I love it so much! It has the right amount of dewy-ness and the colours they make it in are great, however I usually have to build this product to get the right amount of coverage so I'll usually mix it with the B Radiating Illuminating foundation which I'll go on to talk about in a minute. As well as the B Radiating Illuminating  foundation, I also use the B Flawless Complete Coverage foundation which is amazing and you don't have to use a lot of another product to achieve the perfect finish!

The second product is the B Radiating Illuminating foundation. This along with the B Flawless Complete Coverage foundation (which I've nearly finished!) are such amazing products! As well as being animal cruelty free which is rare to find in drugstore products, the colours they do this product in are lovely and they actually live up to what they say they do on the bottle! If you're using the Radiant Illuminating one, definitely mix this with the Bourjois foundation for an extra bit of coverage but if you're using the Flawless Complete Coverage, you wont need to add a lot of another foundation, maybe just a hint of Bourjois or even a hint of the B Radiant Illuminating foundation for that extra bit of natural looking glow!

The third product is by Sonia Kashuk and is called Perfecting Luminous foundation and I purchase this when I go to America. I'm unsure whether they stock this brand here in the UK but if you can get your hands on it, I definitely recommend you do! This is purely an illuminating foundation and works as a top coat if you like. Unless you're happy with your skin and you only want a tiny bit of coverage and more of a natural glow, then you can use this on its own but if you're used to a fuller coverage look, definitely add this on top of your main foundation and you're away to go!

So there you go, my top 3 mixable drugstore foundations! You can mix all three if you like, just make sure you don't apply too much of each product!

I hope you like the idea of this mini makeup series! Like I said earlier in the post, I'll be posting different products each week for face, lips and eyes so please keep checking!

Don't forget to follow me on Twitter: @ChloesConcept and my Bloglovin (button on the sidebar!) to keep up with my latest posts! I'd also love if you would check out this post which talks about my online campaign/platform I run on my blog for bullying, self-esteem, anxiety & more! I'd love for anyone to be involved so please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested or would like more information!

Thank you for reading!
