CURRENT PERFUME FAVOURITES

Hey everyone!

Today is a super quick post about two perfumes I've been loving recently! Hope they give you some ideas if you're on the hunt for a new beautiful scent!

I'm a huge fan of perfumes and my favourite is a coconut scent, however I also love scents which are different to what you'd normally test and these two perfumes fit the bill.

This Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears is quite the classic affordable perfume. I struggle to find anyone who doesn't have at least one perfume from her what seems, never ending range. My ultimate number 1 Britney Spears perfume is Curious. It's one of the first perfumes I owned when I was about 11 or 12 and it has such a distinctive scent, it's just always going to be one of my favourites. But, we're talking about Midnight Fantasy. This one I've tried many times before in the shops but never went ahead and purchased it. I always loved it when I'd test it so I don't know why I didn't buy it before, I think it might have felt like I was going against Curious! This one has a stronger scent but nothing overpowering at all, it's very distinctive and wonderful. My mum and cousin usually say "You're wearing Midnight Fantasy aren't you?" when I wear it so it's definitely distinguishable! This one is very affordable and you can often purchase it for a deal around £12-15 in places like Boots, Superdrug and Savers.

This one is, as you can see Balenciaga Paris. This one is more on the expensive side and makes a great Christmas present which is what I had for Christmas just gone. This perfume has such a soft, subtle scent. When I tried it, I immediately described it as a powdery scent, which is strange but I hope that makes sense? I don't use this one every day because I wouldn't be able to afford another one just on whim as it comes in at £67 for the 50ml. You can get different sizes obviously which then range in price. If your birthday is coming up or if you are thinking about what perfumes you may want for Christmas 2015 (yes it feels like a long way away but it will soon come around!) then try this one because I know you're going to love it as much as I do!

GARNIER SKINCARE ROUTINE - SIMPLE & SO, SO QUICK.

Garnier skin sensitive skin face skincare toner moisturiser cleanser

Hi everyone!

Today's post is a skincare routine you can totally stick to. I am the world's worst for skincare. It's so, so important to take care of your skin but I completely and utterly neglect mine...well, I did until recently.

I find that I get super lazy when it comes to taking care of my skin because a) I believe I don't have time for it (even though I do), b) there are so many products out there - I don't know which ones to pick, c) the products I eventually buy, never work because I have sensitive skin and even sensitive skin products just don't do the trick and finally d) I always feel the moisturisers leave my skin feeling too sticky/greasy.

Let me make this super simple, easy and quick for you. If what I have just said sounds familiar to you, fret not because I've got a three fantastic products (disclaimer - not sponsored or supplied by the brand or anyone else) which are working amazingly for me.

This may sounds obvious but I'm just going their uses. At first, I thought, which comes first!? Here's how I do it...

Use the Garnier Skin Naturals Softening Cleansing Lotion For Face & Eyes to remove your makeup. I love this stuff because it's for face AND eyes so you don't have to use two different products. I like to use this on a cotton pad and be gentle - the skin on your face is delicate - especially around your eyes, so don't use a rough material.

Once you've removed it all, go ahead and wash your face with your regular face wash/soap (Garnier also do a face wash which I'm eager to try!).

After you've patted your face dry (keeping it gentle, remembering your skin is delicate!) you'll want to grab the Garnier Softening Toner and apply this to another cotton pad and gently swipe this around your face - removing all of the excess makeup on your face (it's still important to do this even if you don't wear makeup - it will get rid of all the excess oils and grease your skin builds up throughout the day).

Then leave your face to dry for a few seconds and go ahead and apply your Garnier Skin Naturals Moisture Match Goodbye Dry Ultra-Hydrating Rich Cream. I like to apply moisturiser a couple of hours before bed as it gives it time to dry and wont get all sticky on your pillow!

I think this is my favourite moisturiser ever because it feels more like a balm when you rub it in, rather than too liquidy or greasy on your skin!

I've noticed my skin is so much softer, fresher and genuinely healthier looking since using these products and just really thinking about how bad I've treated my skin for so long. Remember, the skin on your face, if healthy, prolongs your makeup and lets it sit better so keep that in mind too!

There we are, a really basic, easy skincare post! I'm not one for fuss so I hope this helps. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruit as well as taking vitamins to help keep your skin looking good and feeling great!

Now that I've overcome the first hurdle of doing these basic steps, I'm sure I'll be trying and testing other products to add into my daily routine - however I don't like overloading my skin with products so the less I can get away with, the better! I'll keep you posted on anything I find which works!

Hope this was helpful or at least slightly helpful!

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE : BEAUTY EDITION

Christmas

Christmas is rapidly approaching and I don't like how quick it's coming! Christmas is my favourite time of year so I really like to enjoy it and make the most of it, but it's just flying by!

As the days are whittling by so quickly, I thought it would be helpful if I put together a bit of a gift guide/idea post to help you out if you're struggling to find time to actually look for presents for friends and family!

First of all we'll get stuck into some beauty products!

Foundations:

Obviously this is quite a difficult one because you really need to know the shade of the person you are buying for as this is so difficult to get right if they're not with you to choose. If you're lucky and you know the colour (although the shade and colours do change depending on the brand!) then here's a couple of my favourite drugstore foundations:

  1. L'Oreal Infallible 24H Foundation  - £9.99
  2. L'Oreal Nutri Lift Gold Foundation - £14.99

Best foundation

L'Oreal

Amazing foundation

                             Bourjois 1,2,3 Perfect Foundation - £10.99

Bourjois

Nars Sheer Glow

Covergirl Target

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup - £29.50

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Concealers
  1. Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer Light - £7.99
  2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19
(Side-note: I love the lightest shade in both of these concealers as they make awesome highlighters!)

Concealer Lasting Perfection Collection Eraser Mabelline
Primers
Primers Best Primers ELF Rimmel Fix & Perfect

Eyes

Lancôme Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara Gift Set - £22.50

Lancome Doll Eyes Hypnose Lovely Eyes

I was lucky enough to trial this product and I absolutely love it! The mascara wand is something which allows me to get right into the lash bed and really grip each individual lash without it appearing clumpy or getting mascara all over your eyelids (which I can't stand!). After one coat, it gives you a lovely natural look but when you apply a couple of layers, you'll really get that doll effect finish which the product claims to give you!

I definitely recommend this product! It makes for a wonderful Christmas Gift Set or even if you're looking for a new mascara and eyeliner!

Lancome Mascara High end mascara

  1. Elf Baked Eyeshadow Palette - £10
  2. Elf Baked Eyeshadow - Toasted - £3 (approx)

ELF baked eyeshadow bronzed smokey eye

Here's my product review and what it's a GREAT DUPE for!

I hope you found this post helpful if you're looking for gifts to buy or even if you fancy a new product to add on your Christmas wishlist!

In the next couple of days I'll be posting a Fashion Christmas Gift Guide and also a Random Christmas Gift Guide which will include...you guessed it... random things but still awesome nonetheless!

Stay tuned and hope to see you back here soon!

VITILIGO: AN INTERVIEW WITH GEMMA CAREY

Hi readers! Today I have an interview with fellow blogger Gemma Carey. I found conducting this interview extremely interesting due to the fact that Vitiligo is a skin condition that isn't that well known yet it's extremely common. I'd like to thank Gemma before we get started for her honesty and encouragement in this interview. Thank you, Gemma

So, let's get this interview going!

How does the skin condition Vitiligo impact you?

Vitiligo has affected me differently as I've grown up. It isn't painful and most of the time, people don't notice it as I have quite pale skin naturally anyway. I hate summer because I start tanning which makes my Vitiligo more noticeable. I don't lie in the sun and I don't like wearing shorts or short sleeved tops. Growing up I used to visit doctors and exhibitions to try different ways of getting rid of it, as there isn't a cure. But now at 20, I think I would be quite sad if it went as it has become a part of me all of my life.

When did you first realise you had Vitiligo?

My parents started noticing white spots on my legs when I was 2 years old.

How has having this skin condition effected your self-esteem and body confidence?

It certainly affects what I wear and I feel less confident in front of guys. Even when I'm out at friends or out swimming, I'm very conscious of people looking and wondering what it is.

How did you feel compared to your friends when growing up with Vitiligo?

My friends have been supportive throughout my life. Of course they would ask me what it is and sometimes it may pop up in conversation, but they will always reassure me. For example, recently me and my friends were going out and I was too conscious to have my legs out. My friend said that it wasn't even noticeable. It's little things like that that make me feel better and grateful to have such supportive friends.

Has the effect of this skin condition got any easier for you to deal with as you're now 20 or are you still at the same level of self-consciousness?

I feel a lot better about it now that I've got older. I've learnt to live and deal with it as I know it's probably never going to go away. Naturally people grow up and become more mature about it. I don't get spiteful comments anymore. Of course I am still conscious but it gets to a stage where you have to get over it or I would be so down all of the time.

Recently, a contestant of America's Next Top Model, Chantelle Brown-Young has highlighted this condition and brought awareness to Vitiligo. Has your self-esteem improved due to this new wave of awareness?

I wouldn't say my self-esteem has improved, but it gives me an example to discuss when explaining the condition to someone. I think it's great that there is more awareness now. What annoys me is that Chantelle and America's Next Top Model have glamourised the condition, calling it "beautiful" etc. What people don't realise is that Chantelle was probably bullied as a child and has probably spent most of her life feeling awful because of her condition. Vitiligo is not glamorous and certainly is not seen as glamorous in the real world.

Chantelle recently stated “I need to accept it, embrace it and enjoy it.” What is your top advice to anyone who has recently discovered they have Vitiligo or if they've had it for awhile but still can't come to terms with it?

I think that's a great quote, and she's right. There isn't a cure for Vitiligo so it's important to remain a positive attitude. I enjoy meeting other people with the condition. Join the Vitiligo society, attend exhibitions. Knowing your not alone is comforting, and I know it can sometimes feel like you're alone because it isn't a common condition. Indeed you must accept, embrace and enjoy.

Apart from America's Next Top Model, do you think the media is doing enough to bring attention to this condition and to encourage younger teens that they don't have to conform to what is classed as “perfect” in magazines, films, adverts etc., in order to fit in?

I have seen an article about Vitiligo on Cosmopolitan.co.uk too. I know the media are certainly bringing it to attention but you have to remember that although Vitiligoaffects you mentally and physically, it is not life threatening. The media should concentrate on more serious conditions. And yes, more plus size models etc are being used but that hasn't cancelled out the editing and skinniness. I think there is just more awareness of normality now and that you shouldn't always listen to the media.

Thank you so much, Gemma! If you want to visit Gemma's blog, you can check it out here and you can get in touch with her on Twitter @GemFash!

The bronzer you absolutely must try!

Hi everyone!

So another product I purchased in Florida was the Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Cream Bronzer in the colour Warm Tan.

First of all I really, really love this bronzer. I didn't think I'd find an affordable cream bronzer that I love as much as the SEVENTEEN cream bronzer, but this has definitely topped it!

I love that this bronzer has a lovely tan shade to give you a healthy glow without it being too dark or orange-y but at the same time, it gives a slight pink tone so it kind of works like a blusher and bronzer in one.

As I mentioned, this bronzer is definitely affordable at $10.99 from Target. I always do a huge Sonia Kashuk haul whenever I'm in America because I'm not sure that the UK sells any of her products, at least they don't where I live in the UK - if you know of a UK site which sells Sonia Kashuk products, please let me know!!

A lot of people apply cream bronzers with brushes however my favourite way to apply any cream bronzer (especially this one!) is by using a damp beauty blender! By using a damp beauty blender, you'll get a great coverage without it being too contoured, it will go on evenly and its so simple to rectify if you make a little mistake! If you are using a beauty blender, make sure it is damp, not too soaked and not too dry because neither will work well!

I hope this post was helpful and you decide to try out this bronzer! I've been excited to try it for awhile and now that I have, I don't want to use any other bronzer!

Thanks for reading!

This Week's Bargain Buys

Hi!

First of all, I just want to apologise for the lack of posts this week, I think I've posted only once! I've just moved house so things are very hectic and crazy but I'm trying to get as many posts up as possible!

This week I've bought a couple of great bargains which I'll share with you in this post! I hope you enjoy!

Hair:

Got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray

I'll start with my favourite hairspray and that is the Got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray. I can't tell you the amount of times I repurchase this because it must be at least 100 times, no joke! I know that this hairspray is used by males also but it's such a great, long lasting, super strong, immense hold that I really don't care, if it works, it works and it definitely works. I could be in the middle of a hurricane or a rainstorm and nothing would move. I'm not exaggerating either so if you're looking for that super strong hold then look no further!

Freeze Spray

You can get this spray in Boots, Tesco, Superdrug, Savers... you get the idea but the place I always buy it from is Savers because everywhere else sells it for about £4+ and Savers sell it for £2.64 (approx) however this week, Superdrug had a sale on and I got it for £1.99 so of course, I bought five... I would have bought more but I cleared the shelf!

Face:

Simple Radiance Brightening Facial Wash

The next product is something I've just purchased for the first time and that is the Simple Radiance Brightening Facial Wash! I bought this for £1.99 in Home Bargains so it was definitely a bargain! I used this product this morning and I honestly couldn't see much improvement in how radiant my face looked, but I have very red skin so I'm not sure if the redness just covered it!

Facial Wash

It also claims to have a mango scent, which I struggled to find. It definitely had a fruity scent but I wasn't overly keen on it! The positives of this product however was that it left my face feeling firmer and my primer went on a lot better than it usually does so I'll definitely keep using it just for those factors if nothing else!

Eyes:

Eyes

Collection Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner

This product is the Collection Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner and is one that I've used before and it lasted a heck of a long time. It probably wasn't overly hygienic for the amount of time I actually used it but hey ho! I love how not only does it lasts for a long time (in relation to over a period of time) but it also lasts all day long! The nib on it is like a felt-tip marker which is extremely precise and easy to apply. It also doesn't do that annoying thing where you apply it, open your eyelid and it's transferred to the top of your eyelid where you've just applied your eye shadow! I think this only cost me about £2.99 which is fantastic value in my opinion for its quality!

Eye Liner

This product is the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil. Ever since I started incorporating my eyebrow routine into my makeup routine, I've used the same eyebrow pencil however I just remember finding it at the bottom of my makeup bag with the writing on the side of it worn off so now that I'm getting pretty down to the end of it, I've been trying to find it in places like Superdrug and Boots but to no avail. Yesterday I was looking in the Rimmel section and came across the exact eyebrow pencil and was so happy I'd found it! As I'm very fair and my hair is a brownish/blonde/redish colour, I find that the colour "Hazel" fits me best and for £2.99, you can't go wrong!

Eyebrow Pencil

There we are! I hope you enjoyed this post and try one or two of the products I've talked about! I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do!

Have you bought any bargains recently?

Mascaras That Are Worth Your Money!

Hello!

I've bought two new mascaras recently; one waterproof and one non-waterproof. I hate waterproof mascara and I only bought it under the impression it was non-waterproof (obviously didn't read the label!) so when I went to wash my mascara off that night, I was wondering why I struggled to get it off! However, this Spring/Summer I've suffered badly with hay fever and pet allergies which causes my eyes to water non-stop, so I guess in a round-about way, it worked out!

So I'll start on the waterproof mascara:

This is Collection's Volumising Mascara you can find here for £3.99. I can 100% say that it is waterproof, and you'll need a good eye makeup remover to get this off as soap and water just doesn't do it!

I love the brush as its really long and thick which is obviously great as this helps with the volumising of your lashes!

So already its promise to be volumising is living up-to its claim! It lasts all day long and all in all I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a budget, waterproof, volumising mascara!

Non-waterproof Mascara:

I love L'Oreal mascaras. I think they're great quality, lovely packaging and lasts a great length of time (during the day and also over the months!). I've tried lots of their mascaras and have been extremely happy with each one! The one I decided to purchase this time, however, is the new L'Oreal Paris Million Lashes So Couture mascara you can see here, which I bought for £7.99 as there is currently an offer on, however its regular price is £10.99!

I usually (like I said before) prefer a thicker, long brush but this one has the little fish teeth kind of brush (not sure if that's the correct name but that's what I call it!) and was a little bit hesitant as to whether I'd like it but when I did try it, I was extremely impressed!

As the brush it smaller, it allows you to apply it more precise and coat each eyelash well and thoroughly! The part of the bottle that usually takes off the excess mascara from the brush (I hope that made sense?) doesn't take much of the excess off the brush in this mascara, which I find nice in a way as there is more mascara on the brush so you don't have to keep going back for more, so that saves time too!

All in all, my favourite mascara here is the L'Oreal So Couture Mascara as I just love L'Oreal mascaras but if waterproof is your thing, then I definitely recommend Collection's Volumising Mascara!

I hope this little product review helps! Let me know of any mascaras you love and would repurchase over and over again!
